BUSTING the MYTH surrounding WEIGHT TRAINING and WOMEN

If your goal is to look lean and firm then lifting weights is an effective way to achieve this.  Many women incorrectly believe the myth that weight training will make them look big and bulky. The truth is women generally lack the testosterone required to achieve this look. Most women that we would refer to as ‘bulky’ are usually carrying an excess of body fat which results in this look. Please note: The more lean muscle mass you have the more calories you burn on a daily basis!! This means that including an effective and progressive weight training routine into your training regime will help you increase the muscle required to increase your metabolic rate.

Strength Training also boasts a whole heap of other benefits, including:

-Increased bone density

-Injury prevention

-Improvement in co-ordination

-Improvement in sports performance

-Improvement in day to day movements

-Increased core strength

-Reduction of aches and pains

-Improved flexibility.

If you want to achieve visible results, then once you feel confident with the given exercises you have to push yourself. This means lifting heavier than you may have done in the past but trust me, if you do so, then not only will you notice that you gain strength, decrease body fat and look in fantastic shape, you will also feel a boost to your confidence and a strong sense of well being both mentally and physically! Take it from me. My strongest client is usually my leanest!
